Are you passionate about improving digital products, working with data, and helping users navigate complex regulatory environments? Hecla is looking for a motivated and structured Business Analyst to support and enhance our digital solutions for environmental compliance in shipping — including the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), FuelEU Maritime, and upcoming regulations.
In this role, you’ll act as the key bridge between digital teams, business stakeholders, and end‑users, helping us continuously develop scalable, user‑focused solutions that deliver real operational value.
What you will be working on:
Prioritize internal and external feedback to build clear and cohesive development roadmaps.
Translate desired features into precise specifications for developers using documentation, mock‑ups, or visual tools.
Follow up on newly released features to ensure they work effectively in real operational settings.
Strengthen customer communication around product updates, new features, and enhancements.
Support digital product operations and internal improvement initiatives.
Establish and improve workflows for proactively collecting user feedback.
Document processes and product knowledge to ensure shared understanding across teams.
Manage and maintain data pipelines; analyze business and regulatory-related datasets.
Learn and apply maritime emissions regulations to ensure our digital processes and data structures meet compliance needs.
Support teams and customers in ad hoc tasks, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
Act as a point of contact toward the internal IT organization for specifying and coordinating digital projects.
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science (with business focus), or similar.
A Master’s degree in maritime or shipping management is an advantage, but not required.
1–3 years of experience working with digital processes, product improvement, or business analysis in a corporate setting.
Experience or interest in maritime emissions regulations (ETS, FuelEU Maritime) or commercial shipping models is desirable.
Experience or interest in carbon markets or environmental financial products is a plus.
Technical skills:
Ability to write and run SQL queries.
Ability to read and understand Python code (C# familiarity is a plus).
Experience analyzing data using APIs and a programming language, preferably Python.
Familiarity with Git-based version control tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub).
Understanding of Agile/Scrum or similar digital project methodologies.
Interest in specialized emissions software, databases, or registry platforms.
What we offer:
Working at Wilhelmsen can offer a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work-life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating. Beyond this, benefits in Norway include, but are not limited to:
Competitive salary and an attractive pension plan
Flexible working hours and location
