Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a Business Analyst with our Knowledge Management team. Reporting directly to the Director of Knowledge Solutions, Product Management, the Business Analyst holds a pivotal role in translating business requirements into comprehensive product solutions for medium to large-scale initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage user experience and functionality and design new products and enhance existing products.
Consult with stakeholders to understand needs and requirements.
Partner with developers to understand the technical implications of the requirements.
Reconcile all perspectives into a cohesive, prioritized, and detailed plan, including UI wireframes and user experience flows.
Gather and writes business and functional requirements.
Collaborate with the data management team to define interaction of data with other systems/databases.
Work with third party vendors to customize tools to optimize business need.
Set and maintain documentation standards for the team.
Create and analyze other documentation including but not limited to user stories, requirements tractability matrices, release notes, training scenarios, test cases.
Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for the Knowledge Solutions Product Management team.
With Project Manager, track development progress and drive projects through to completion.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, and 4 years working as a Business Analyst; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience prior experience at a law firm or legal technology vendor as an attorney or paralegal strongly preferred.
Prior practical legal experience including legal practice process improvement.
Strong understanding of legal technology and collaboration tools and process and/or enterprise search tools such as SharePoint, iManage Work, iManage Insight, and Opus2.
Strong understanding and enthusiasm of AI technology in the legal space and tools such as Thomson Reuters CoCounsel Core, CoCounsel Drafting and/or ChatGPT enterprise.
Verbal and written communication skills
Strategic project management skills with strong organizational skills
Strong collaborator with customer service focus
Demonstrated ability to think innovatively, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement within the team.
Technical skills: JIRA, Confluence; and SharePoint experience is a plus.
Legal technology applications such as iManage Work, iManage Insight, Opus2, CoCounsel Core, CoCounsel Drafting and/or ChatGPT enterprise strongly preferred.
