Business Analyst

Reporting to the AVP of Portfolio & Data Analytics, the roles of Retail Deposit Business Analyst and Residential Lending Business Analyst will support aspects of Manulife Bank’s Deposit product success including strategic positioning, system enhancements, sales generation and retention improvement. This role will work closely with the Sales and Product teams, Treasury, as well as other supporting organizations. The candidate will leverage best practices in system analysis and reporting with the support of a data team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business knowledge, mathematics, and banking.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Change Management: Work with the Product team to understand, define, and test business requirements. Provide strategic direction to business stakeholders on defining processes and system enhancements. Work with Core Engineering (IT) to ensure changes are completed and tested.

  • Compensation Incentives: Strategically design a compensation system for both internal and external sales teams that brings new deposits into the bank and retains existing deposits at targeted rates.

  • Project Management: Prioritize requirements with business stakeholders and Core Engineering (IT). Guide large/complex projects from ideation to production release, and post-production support.

  • Liaise with business analyst partners in other Manulife business units to share best practices.


How will you create impact?


This role will act as a catalyst for change in our deposit strategy at Manulife Bank, leveraging multiple teams to connect, enhance, and reward our clients' banking capabilities and efforts. You will work with Core Engineering (IT) to improve the existing infrastructure, and the Manager of Analysis and Reporting to monitor KPIs and data trends to measure your success.
 

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, or Mathematics or equivalent business experience.

  • Prior experience in Change Management, Business Analysis, or Project Management.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems in a clear and concise manner to senior colleagues.

  • 1-3 years' experience as a Business Analyst in a previous role.

  • Strong Excel or Power BI Skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL and/or Python is an asset.

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence is an asset.

  • Previous experience in banking industry is an asset.

Working Arrangement

Salary range is expected to be between

$70,500.00 CAD - $117,500.00 CAD
