Bus Driver

Amentum is seeking a Bus Driver for Creech Air Force Base.

Purpose and Scope: 

Delivery of passengers between designated locations per assigned schedule or designated route(s) as directed by the Dispatcher.

Compensation

HIRING HOURLY Rate of Pay: $35.79; Hourly rate set by CBA.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Drive a passenger bus or van and transport passengers by the Dispatcher in a safe and timely manner.
• Responsible to report vehicle accidents, ensure repairs have been made, conduct inspections and provide the overall security of vehicle, maintenance and replacement.
• Report necessary maintenance, conduct fueling, and clean-up of interior and/or exterior assigned vehicles to ensure a safe and professional appearance of the vehicle.
• Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger’s comfort and complies with all local traffic regulations and Air Force Instructions (AFI) applicable to the transportation of passengers and items.
• Track number of passengers by pick-up point, beginning and ending mileage, maintenance, cleaning checklists and reports according to AFIs and AF1800.
• Perform other duties when not driving such as washing, cleaning, and ensure upkeep of operational lubricants for the interior and/or exterior of assigned vehicles.
• Performs safe practices during the loading and unloading of passengers.
• Operates radio or similar device to communicate with the Dispatcher or other vehicles. Report emergencies and maintenance requests according to the AFIs and AF1800.

Other Responsibilities (may be applicable):

• The schedule and locations to pick up passengers is subject to change.  If the schedule and/or locations change, then the Bus Driver will be directed by the Dispatcher as to the schedule, routes and pick-up/drop-off locations to follow. 
• Can perform Heavy Duty Driver duties if CDL Class A certified.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work environment is both inside and outside company facility locations with a significant portion of time spent sitting for extended periods of time while driving company vehicle(s), driving planned routes during all types of weather conditions. Absolute focus on road and traffic conditions are necessary for the safety and timely delivery of the passengers. Must have a willingness to work and follow directions, to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, carry and place objects (ie. Passenger luggage) weighing up to fifty (50) pounds, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required. Able to respond to vehicle emergencies and direct passengers to safety. Alert Dispatcher of emergency maintenance to ensure passengers arrive on time. Must be able to adapt to directed Mission Essential reporting changes and transport locations as directed by the Dispatcher.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent training/experience.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience driving a Class B vehicle with a Passenger (P) Endorsement with high proficiency is required.
• Must have a valid and current CDL Class B driver's license and an excellent driving record.
• Must have excellent knowledge of local area and roads.
• Must pass driving record (MVR) check.
• Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is preferred.
• A CDL Class A driver's license to perform any Heavy Duty Driver duties is preferred, but not required.
• Must interact with passengers, requiring professional appearance and friendly and professional communication skills. 
• Must qualify for and maintain a secret security clearance.
