Job Summary

Receives moderate level of guidance and direction to support AEP's business continuity program efforts for the business units and operating companies. Aids in the development of business continuity processes, procedures and training materials. Provides corporate and business unit training in support of business continuity efforts. Support AEP's business continuity management improvement initiatives. Assists operating company and business unit personnel in the implementation of business continuity plans. Solves a range of problems and requires basic knowledge and experience in business continuity.

What You'll Do:

Business Continuity Responsibilities

Business Continuity Management Support:

Execute the business continuity management program for assigned business units, ensuring adherence to annual program requirements.

Perform business impact analysis (BIA) to assess potential risks and impacts on operations.

Business Continuity Plan Development and Template Maintenance:

Oversee the development of business continuity plans (BCPs) and ensure they meet organizational standards.

Conduct, plan, and evaluate BCP tests to assess readiness and effectiveness.

Help maintain and update business continuity templates to ensure they are current and reflect best practices.

Business Continuity Plan Training Support:

Support and deliver training sessions on business continuity, risk assessment, crisis management, and other specific plans for staff.

Evaluation of BCPs:

Evaluate business continuity plans for assigned business units to ensure adequate protection of company assets, including employees, facilities, and equipment.

Provide feedback on the implementation and maintenance of BCPs to enhance effectiveness.

BCP Gap Analysis:

Conduct gap analyses between critical business process Recovery Time   Objectives (RTOs) and application RTOs to ensure alignment and preparedness.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

Monitor BCP tests and evaluate the results to identify areas for improvement.

Record and track action items related to plan updates until resolution.

Additional Analyst Responsibilities

Data Analysis:

Analyze distribution data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

Provide actionable insights based on data findings to support decision-making.

Reporting:

Write detailed reports summarizing analysis results and present findings to stakeholders.

Create and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

Work Planning and Scheduling Support:

Assist in developing work plans and schedules based on analytical insights.

Monitor and report on the effectiveness of current work processes and scheduling practices.

Communication:

Present analytical findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

Facilitate discussions to ensure clarity and understanding of reports and dashboards.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements based on data analysis.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance analytical methodologies.

What You'll Have:

Educational requirements are listed below:

Preferred qualifications include a degree in Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, or related fields however, significant experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Work Experience requirements listed below:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Business Continuity Management processes and best practices, which include information technology infrastructure concepts, emergency planning concepts, and disaster recovery concepts.

  • Experience in emergency notification and crisis management is desired.  Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insightful reports desired.

Required License(s)/Certification(s) are listed below:

BC-DR Certification is desired (ABCP, CBCP or CBCI)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work overtime, call out overtime, as required 

  • Basic understanding of Incident Command System (ICS) roles and responsibility desired 

  • Provide 24/7 event management on-call support on a rotational basis

  • Periodic travel required to company locations - 10-15%

  • Requires ability and willingness to work extended hours with little or no advanced notice, work off-hours and be called back to work due to corporate crises and emergencies

Compensation Range:

$87,633.00 - $109,543.00

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
