Main purpose
We are seeking a Bunker Operator to join our Madrid team, providing critical operational support to our physical bunkering business. This role sits at the heart of our marine fuel supply chain, ensuring seamless execution from deal confirmation through to final delivery.
Key responsibilities
Provide end to end trader support for physical bunkering operations, including scheduling and execution of the TFG bunker fleet, contract management, and coordination with suppliers, port agents, inspectors, customs and clients throughout pre and post-delivery phases.
Conduct daily stock progression analysis, marine fuel blending to meet contract specifications, and storage asset optimization to create value while managing quality and quantity requirements.
Undertake voyage planning in compliance with international regulations, monitor vessel performance (speed, consumption, tank cleaning), and respond to operational issues and schedule diversions
Maintain accurate and timely updates across all company systems in accordance with company policy, verify supporting documentation against system data, and escalate inconsistencies to relevant departments
Manage vessel clearances and KYC administration while ensuring strict compliance with local customs regulations, internal procedures, and the company's Code of Conduct at all times
Keep all concerned stakeholders updated with the latest operational data and liaise with key internal TFG departments to confirm alignment on supply requirements
Required qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience in bunker or oil operations, marine fuel trading, or shipping operations.
Experience in physical commodities or energy trading environment
Proficiency in voyage planning and vessel operations management
Strong understanding of marine fuel specifications, blending operations, and quality control
Experience with inventory management and stock optimization
Familiarity with trading and operations management systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Knowledge of international maritime regulations and compliance requirements
Understanding of customs procedures and port operations
Familiarity with bunker supply chain processes from procurement to delivery
Knowledge of KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures and documentation requirements
Fluent English (written and spoken)
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
Spanish language skills
Additional languages advantageous
