We are looking for a highly motivated Building Operator to join our Operations team in Vancouver. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting building equipment to ensure maximum efficiency. With a customer service focused mindset, you will also ensure all tenant and operation teams’ requests are completed in a timely manner.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the day-to-day operations/repairs of the building’s HVAC equipment (including pumps, motors, fans, Variable speed drives, compressors, etc.), Life Safety systems, building automation systems and lighting systems

  • Water treatment program, regular water tests and addition of chemicals

  • Preventative maintenance on all buildings and HVAC equipment including small plumbing repairs and drain clearing

  • Timely responses/resolutions of all tenant requests logged through tenant portal, and ensuring there is on-going communication with tenants regarding any mechanical/HVAC issues

  • Liaising with service providers and contractors

  • Reviewing and monitoring contracted work to ensure everything is being performed in safe manner, as well as compliant with building standards

  • Developing energy priorities for building systems to keep in line with Oxford’s sustainability practices and objectives, including daily energy management of HVAC and lighting systems

  • General maintenance and other duties as requested

To succeed in this role, you have/are:

  • At least one year of technical and mechanical building operations experience

  • A trade certification is an asset

  • General knowledge and experience operating HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, BAS, FAS and Life Safety Systems in a Class A office/retail complex

  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certification

  • Skills in blueprint reading, as applied to technical areas

  • Exceptional skills in communication, organization, customer service, interpersonal and time management

  • The ability to work with minimal supervision

  • 8-hour work shift and as-needed basis during weekends

  • Able to lift 25lb

  • Able to climb and safely use ladders

  • Good communication skills and must be a team player

For this position specifically, the annualized base salary range is $65,000 - $78,000 Plus Bonus. You may also be eligible to receive an annual Incentive Award which may include Short-term Incentive, benefits, and/or retirement savings plan – details on these elements of compensation are included within OMERS & Oxford offer letters.

The base salary that is ultimately offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set.
