Job Summary: This position is served in the House Office Buildings, Client Services Division, Service Center Branch. The incumbent examines offices, foyers, safety apparatuses and other public spaces to detect and rectify maintenance issues for Members, Committees, and their staffs; arranges shop work when responding to inspections; and assists building management with assigning office suites to Congress Members and their respective staffs.

Qualifications: You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-08 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: 1.) Performing quality assurance inspections to ensure all assigned work is completed based on job requirements and needs of the clients (building office suite inspections and safety inspections); 2.) Using computerized programs to maintain data and records (i.e. Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and TMA Systems computer software); and 3.) Inspecting buildings to facilitate the correction of maintenance deficiencies and coordinating building service requirements with the appropriate trade shops. Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience: 1.) Providing building services to the occupants of commercial buildings receiving and taking immediate action to resolve complaints (i.e. building office suite inspections, safety inspections, and generate work orders for services or repairs); 2.) Using computerized programs to provide daily status report and reports on inspection findings and deficiencies; 3.) Serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to ensure accurate and adequate oversight of contractor performance according to contract requirements; and 4.) Initiating inspection test procedures and making recommendations to modify job and/or contract specifications for evaluating trade/contractor procedures and operations.
