What is a Building & Grounds Mechanic - Electrician?

A member of the Facilities department and IBEW local 320, the Building & Grounds Mechanic is responsible for contributing to the installation, maintenance and repair of the building systems, infrastructure, structures, and grounds of any Central Hudson property.

What does a Buildings & Grounds Mechanic - Electrician do?

Under general supervision, performs high-class work in one or more of the following crafts: Plumber/Pipe Fitter, HVAC Technician, Electrician, Carpenter, Painter, or Mason.

What does it take to be a Building & Grounds Mechanic - Electrician?

Required

• High School Diploma or an Equivalency Diploma and 3+ years of experience in commercial/ industrial electrical work

• Skilled in low voltage electrical work, including data, communication, and control wiring. Familiar with wiring for building automation systems (BAS) for HVAC, and lighting controls

• Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans, wiring diagrams, schematics etc.

• Evidence of physical fitness shall be required and at the Company's option must be demonstrated by medical examination by a doctor selected by the Company

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Preferred

• 5+ years of experience in commercial/ electrical work

• EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment

All incumbents start at the same pay rate per the collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Rate: $48.45 to $50.76/hour
