What success looks like in this role:
The Build & Release Engineer is a member of the engineering group responsible for supporting and improving build, integration, and release processes. This role focuses on implementing automation, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring smooth and reliable software deliveries. The engineer works closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to support day‑to‑day build and release activities while learning and adopting best practices across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain build and release pipelines for applications and services
- Develop and enhance automation scripts using Shell, Python, Perl, or JavaScript
- Assist in managing CI/CD pipelines and resolving build or deployment issues
- Work with version control systems to support branching, tagging, and release workflows
- Monitor builds and deployments to ensure stability and consistency
- Troubleshoot build failures and deployment errors with guidance from senior engineers
- Help manage artifacts and dependencies in repositories such as Nexus or Artifactory
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to integrate build and release processes
- Maintain build and release documentation and follow established best practices
- Participate in release activities, including testing, validation, and post‑release support

You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in build engineering, release engineering, DevOps, or a related role
- Hands-on experience with at least one scripting language:Shell (Bash), Python, Perl, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of Git and basic branching and release strategies
- Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, npm, or similar
- Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments
- Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker preferred)
- Strong willingness to learn, good problem‑solving skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
