Budget Analyst II

About the Position: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and performing complex budgetary and financial operations. It oversees the formulation of budget requests and operating budgets, works closely with program directors to assess and address budgetary needs, and manages assigned operating budgets. The role includes completing surveys and studies to determine state agency fiscal requirements for assigned divisions, conducting research on legislation, and preparing fiscal information for legislative appropriation and substantive bills. Additionally, it involves accumulating and analyzing various budgetary, income, and expenditure data to prepare budget-to-actual and other financial reports, as well as maintaining data on budgetary systems and financial programs for assigned programs and divisions.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, economics, accounting or finance,
  • One year of experience in professional budget administration or fiscal analysis,
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in one of the above areas.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license
