Job Summary: This position is part of the Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security and Emergency Response, Department of Energy. As a Budget Analyst, you will be you will be provideing expertise in any aspect of DOE's budget process and analyzes a variety of highly complex DOE budgetary operations and functions in the assigned organization or program areas.

Veterans shape the future of energy As a Budget Analyst, you will: Manage the full budget cycle for large and complex multi-million-dollar DOE programs, including planning, formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review. Analyze various budgetary operations and functions, develops budget policies, and coordinates budget outlay analysis. Act as a primary contact for budget matters between the assigned program office and the DOE Budget Office and CFO. Research and address significant budget issues, ensuring accuracy and consistency with program objectives and policy. Prepare all necessary funding requests and justifications, such as apportionments and supplemental appropriations, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor budget execution, tracks expenditures, and advises management on financial trends and budget formulation.

Qualifications: BASIC REQUIREMENT: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 the following: Leading the development, formulation, execution, and review of complex organizational budgets. Conducting in-depth financial analysis. Analyzing and resolving complex budgetary problems or funding discrepancies. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
