Broiler Technician

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM Travel: 1–5 trips per year Residency Requirement: Must live within 50 miles of the facility Biosecurity Requirement: Applicants must not own, possess, or maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.

Position Summary

The Broiler Technician provides on‑farm technical support to contract producers to ensure proper bird care, comfort, and flock performance. This role conducts routine farm visits, evaluates bird health and environment, and ensures compliance with company standards, production contracts, and all USDA and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to producers on bird care, housing, equipment settings, litter management, and sanitation.

  • Conduct farm visits and document flock conditions, bird comfort, and equipment performance.

  • Monitor bird health, feed consumption, and order feed when needed.

  • Pull blood and fat samples as required and ensure timely submission.

  • Coordinate chick placements, catch schedules, and communication between hatchery, feed mill, and live haul.

  • Support compliance with all production contract requirements.

  • Assist Broiler and Breeder Departments with weekly chick placements and other operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry, simple queries).

  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

  • Must meet all company biosecurity requirements.
