To lead the strategic growth of the Corporate Segment across the Broader Africa Regions, including both presence and non-presence countries, ensuring alignment with the RMB Corporate Segment strategy.
The role delivers the corporate client mandate by driving client coverage and enabling cross-sell across solution areas—Transaction Banking, Global Markets (GM), Investment Banking (IBD), and Ashburton—into the Corporate Client base.
The role is accountable for protecting and growing the Transaction Banking business across all client groups through sales execution and enablement, while collaborating with Transaction Banking solutions and other key stakeholders—including country leadership, client, product, and enablement functions—to build and optimise in-country capabilities, unlock client value, and drive sustainable profitability in a complex, multi-market environment.
Are You Someone Who Can:
- Define and implement the Corporate Segment strategy across the Broader Africa Regions, ensuring alignment with the broader RMB Corporate Segment strategy and driving sustainable growth in client revenue, profitability, and transactional banking performance.
- Drive the growth of the Transact business across all client groups in Broader Africa Regions, with direct accountability for sales execution and oversight of in-country enablement, onboarding, and service capabilities, in close collaboration with the Solutions Area to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Enable integrated client solutions by orchestrating cross-sell of Global Markets, Investment Banking, Treasury Trade Solutions, WesBank, and Ashburton offerings into the Corporate Client base, in collaboration with sector heads, product partners, and country teams.
- Drive the delivery of strategic initiatives and business transformation by collaborating with country leadership and enablement functions (technology, operations, product, and service) to ensure timely execution, cost efficiency, and scalable, client-centric solutions.
- Shape and influence the regional capability agenda, identifying market-specific needs and working with enablement leads to prioritise investments in talent, platforms, and processes that support growth, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Provide strategic oversight across presence and non-presence countries, ensuring consistent client experience, market development, and alignment of country-level execution with regional priorities.
- Lead and develop high-performing, empowered in-country teams, fostering a culture of performance, inclusion, and accountability, while mentoring leaders to drive client engagement, business development, and effective governance. Identify current and future talent and human resources needs within the team.
- Strengthen regional connectivity and collaboration, acting as the orchestrator between regional and South African teams to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and coordinated client engagement across geographies and product pillars.
- Identify key stakeholders across the group and build relationships with critical partners across the business.
You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You:
- Minimum: Bachelor of Commerce in Finance / Economics / Actuarial Science or similar. A Masters of Finance or Masters of Science will be an added adventage.
- 10-15 years experience in Corporate & Investment Banking related roles.
- Senior Corporate and Investment Banking experience essential.
