Broadcast Operations & Engineering Intern

The Texas Rangers are seeking a Broadcast Operations & Engineering Intern to join our team. This season-long role supports day-to-day broadcast operations, media management, and game-day production workflows. Interns will be hands-on, all-access team members with exposure to all aspects of live game broadcast operations. This position combines technical organization, media handling, editing, and operational support to help ensure smooth productions, efficient content delivery, and well-maintained production environments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Perform basic to intermediate video editing as needed for highlights, melts & records.

  • Support documentation efforts (Tech books, System Diagrams, Crew Sheets, etc.).

  • Support media asset management systems through ingesting and logging of media.

  • Provide multi-faceted support to department and game broadcasts.

  • Support installation, cleaning, and maintenance of broadcast equipment and infrastructure.

  • Learn technologies associated with functions of the department and remote television operations.

  • Identify opportunities for innovation through emerging technologies and creating operational efficiencies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current senior or recent graduate pursuing or holding a degree in media, communications, sports management, or a related field.

  • Previous experience working in sports broadcasting, media production, or a similar role.

  • Available to work 30-40 hours a week throughout the entire MLB regular season.

  • Desire to work behind the scenes in sports broadcasting.

  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.

  • The ability to communicate technical issues and remain calm under pressure is essential.

  • Self-starter, multi-task oriented with minimal supervision required.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Media Asset Management systems is a plus.

  • Excellent decision-making and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as required by the baseball and event schedule.

  • Ability to lift, pull, carry, and move up to 50 pounds, and work on their feet for extended periods of time while supporting broadcast setup, teardown, and daily operations.
