OUR ROLE
This position is based in Tokyo, Japan, and reports to our General Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Head of Marketing at Georg Jensen headquarters. The role is full-time and hybrid.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AT GEORG JENSEN JAPAN
Responsibilities:
Business & Go to market
- Lead the development and execution of annual brand plans with budget to achieve brand awareness, equity, and commercial targets in the market.
- Monitor sales, activations performance, identifying corrective actions in collaboration with Sales and Retail teams.
- Ensure high quality sell-in materials and training content are created to support retail and wholesale partners and personnel.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure go-to-market excellence and consistent brand presentation across all channels.
Market & Business intelligence & Strategy choices development
- Analyze market trends, consumer insights, and competitor activities to inform local brand strategy and strengthen brand position and market share in the market.
- Translate global brand strategies into locally relevant initiatives, actions while maintaining alignment with the brands positioning and values.
- Identify opportunities, propose and lead new market development initiatives and strategic brand transformations as needed.
Marketing and Product Planning and follow-up
- Develop and execute brand marketing calendars, promotional plans, and campaigns to engage consumers, in line with global guidelines and local gtm.
- Lead product assortment planning and pricing alignment with global teams to meet local market demands.
- Evaluate marketing and activation campaign performance against KPIs.
- Ensure all brand and product activities reflect the global brand vision and are consistent and relevant to local consumers .
Local media planning and media / PR agency management
- Plan and execute local media strategies in line with global guidelines and objectives.
- Manage local PR and media agencies to ensure strong earned media results and impactful local collaborations.
- Oversee the adaptation and implementation of global campaigns to suit local market.
Local presence in VM, e-com & digital activation aligned with global guidelines
- Ensure visual merchandising and in store presentation reflect global brand standards and deliver a consumer experience following brand positioning.
- Support the local adaptation of the e-commerce interface and digital assets in alignment with global guidelines.
- Drive localized digital and social activations to enhance consumer engagement and conversion.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with Retail Operations, Sales, Digital, Merchandising, and Finance teams to deliver integrated actionable market plans.
- Collaborate with regional and global brand teams and local sales to share local insights and ensure strategic alignment.
- Manage relationships with agencies, vendors, and key external partners to execute marketing initiatives effectively.
- Report regularly on brand performance, campaign outcomes, and key learnings to local & BU management and global brand teams.
WHO YOU ARE
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in brand management, marketing, or product management within the premium or high-end consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record in driving brand growth, achieving marketing and commercial objectives, and strengthening brand equity.
- Strong understanding of the retail and B2B environment in their market, including consumer behavior and channel dynamics / customer dynamics i.e. joint business plan.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, and experiential touchpoints.
- Skilled in market analysis, consumer insight generation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Proficient with digital marketing tools, e-commerce platforms, and CRM systems.
- Skilled in interaction with sales organizations
- Experience in budget management, financial planning, and ROI evaluation of marketing initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
Language skills:
- Native-level Japanese (written and spoken)
- Fluency in English
