The role 

As BPM coordinator, you lead Damen’s business process modeling platform (Mavim) and maintain the global process architecture. In our current lean team setup, this role combines strategic governance with hands-on modeling and technical responsibilities. You ensure the integrity and consistency of Damen’s process repository, guide Process Modelers in Vietnam, and play a role in training Business Process Owners (BPOs) and Business Process Leads (BPLs) to fulfill their responsibilities in the BPM system.

Key responsibilities: 

As a BPM coordinator, your tasks are the following: 

• Process Repository Governance: Own and maintain the “One Damen” process hierarchy in the BPM tool. Define modeling conventions, naming standards, and ensure all process documentation aligns with these standards;
• Quality Control & Modeling: Oversee the quality of process models. Review and approve models created by others (including the Vietnam modeler) for accuracy and completeness. Perform hands-on modeling for complex or high-priority processes until more capacity is in place;
• Platform Administration: Manage the Mavim platform (user access, configuration, templates). Fix or coordinate fixes for any structural issues in the repository. Work with IT or the software vendor on updates and technical support when needed;
• Coaching & Team Oversight: Guide and mentor Process Modelers in Vietnam. Provide training, feedback, and support as they learn about Damen’s modeling conventions. Gradually transition day-to-day modeling and maintenance tasks to the offshore team as their skills and capacity increase;
• Training & Education: Deliver training and onboarding for BPOs and BPLs on their responsibilities in Mavim, including how to navigate the platform, maintain their processes, and submit change requests. Lead training sessions for modelers and power users on BPMN 2.0, modeling standards, and Damen’s process architecture;
•  Integration & Digitalization: Collaborate with IT and the BPM Process Improvement Specialist to link the BPM system with other digital tools (like dashboards or risk management systems). Ensure process data is set up for future automation or analytics (supporting Damen’s move toward data-driven, digital quality management). 

Skills & experience 

To be successful in this role you bring: 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field;
• 5+ years of experience in Business Process Management, process modeling, or quality management systems;
• Strong knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and hands-on experience with a BPM tool (Mavim or similar such as ARIS, Signavio, etc.); 
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to organizing information; 
• Leadership and coaching skills – able to set standards and teach others to meet them;
• Comfortable working both strategically (setting up frameworks) and tactically (doing the work) in a small team;
• Good communication skills in English; able to work with international, cross-cultural teams.
