Under the direction of the Director, Fleet Sales, responsible for managing and directing Fleet Sales staff to accomplish the following objectives: preserve the fleet (all trucks, equipment, etc.) so as to provide a better product for the customer; maximize utilization of products and materials used to maximize service to fleet and maximize income potential utilizing equipment taken out of rental service; promote department programs with presentations, publications, articles, memos, email, and U-Haul University courses. Develop viable marketing programs that will accomplish goals and objectives as established by U-Haul International. Support the implementation of marketing programs with limited resources budgeted to the department.
Determine effective means of increasing fleet and equipment sales revenues, as well as transactions through presentations and management.
Accountable for the proper utilization of department budget and to reduce expenses as needed or required.
Supervise personnel in Fleet Sales department, including hiring, and performance management.
Discuss new vehicle concepts and ideas with Director, Fleet Sales, as well as written communications regarding marketing programs.
Coordinate programs with Retail & Distribution and Field Support departments.
Coordinate Fleet Sales efforts with all related programs such as repair, licensing, fleet management, Point of Sales (POS), etc.
Responsible for all programs and projects developed, implemented and supported by Fleet Sales such as fleet and equipment sales.
Requirements
5–6 years’ experience in business administration; 2–3 years supervisory experience is preferred. U-Haul experience preferred, not required.
Good written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Must be detail oriented and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Education/Training
College degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or relevant 4-year degree or equivalent coursework on U-Haul School of Business.
