Box Room Operator (2nd Shift) - Tyson of Rogers

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday - Friday, possible Saturdays.

Hour: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM approx.

Pay: $17.40 hour

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and basic maintenance of the box maker. The operator will ensure the box maker is keeping up with production demand.  This role also manages packaging inventory across all departments, ensuring packaging materials are stocked and available per the production schedule. Communication with the production planner is essential for maintaining material availability and minimizing production delays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Box Machine Operation:
    • Set up and operate the box maker to produce boxes for production lines.
    • Perform changeovers as needed to switch box styles.
    • Continuously monitor and refill the magazine to prevent box shortages.
    • Conduct basic troubleshooting and maintenance; LOTO certification is required.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain and manage packaging inventory across all departments, including those not directly using the box-making machine.
    • Monitor the daily production schedule to ensure all materials are prepped and available in advance.
    • Perform weekly and monthly packaging inventory counts.
    • Organize and maintain orderly storage of all packaging supplies and materials.
  • Communication & Coordination:
    • Communicate inventory needs to the Production Planner in a timely and proactive manner.
    • Collaborate with production to ensure packaging materials are available when needed to avoid downtime.
    • Support the Box Room with additional duties as time allows

Requirements: 

  • Experience: 6 months of continuous work history in the last 12 months.

  • Applications will be considered from the following Arkansas counties: Washington, Benton, and Madison.

  • Prior Employee Waiting Period: If you were previously employed at Tyson, there’s a 180-day waiting period before you can reapply.

  • Number of Times Worked at Tyson: You can apply if you’ve worked at Tyson no more than two times.

  • Failed Drug Screen - if you had a failed drug screen, you must wait 6 months before reapplying.

  • Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
