Job Summary: This position is located in the Bowling Section of the Business Activities Branch, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella, Italy. The purpose of this position is to plan and carry out a comprehensive bowling program to meet the needs of eligible patrons.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: Three (3) years of general experience, one (1) year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4/NF-2, OR a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in any field OR a combination of required experience and education. General Experience is experience gained in an administrative responsible work that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems, identify significant factors, gather pertinent data and recognize solutions, plan and organize work, communicate effectively orally and in writing, leading or supervising others. Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate possesses the following: Knowledge of business management practices and methods to manage a small business or recreation facility Knowledge of equipment used in Bowling programs Knowledge of marketing techniques to include marketing strategies, customer trend analysis, price analysis and retail display Knowledge of beverage sales and procurement Knowledge of cost of goods and how it impacts revenues Knowledge of sanitation requirements and ability to obtain a food handler's certification Ability to develop and enforce various controls and methods to prevent inventory shortages and losses Knowledge of effective profit/loss accounting techniques and budget formation and execution Knowledge of personnel programs, training methodology and effective supervisory techniques Communication skills, both orally and in writing Supervisory or managerial skills and abilities to perform the full range of supervisory duties Skill in interpersonal relationships in guiding and controlling day-to-day work operations
