Job Description
Intel India Customer Engineering Team is in a mission to create successful Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) from India across their customer base. We are seeking a Hardware Board Design Engineer specializing in Power Delivery design and debug experience to help Intel customers design and debug their hardware platforms based on Intel Core and Atom CPUs.
Travel Requirements
• Domestic Travel: Regular travel to customer locations across India (up to 40-50% travel) to support design reviews, debug sessions, and training activities
• Flexibility: Ability to accommodate urgent customer requests requiring immediate on-site support
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience: 7-12 years of industry experience (preferably 5-6 years designing and debugging hardware boards with Power Delivery focus using Intel Core/Atom CPUs)
• Power Delivery Expertise: Deep understanding of system Power Delivery requirements and familiarity with Intel Core/Atom processor Power Delivery guidelines including IMVP specifications and PDN analysis
• Circuit Design: Extensive experience with Buck, Boost, and Multi-phase Power Delivery Network design, including control loop understanding and very high current/low-voltage power delivery design
• Design Tools: Proficiency in schematic capture using industry standard tools (Cadence OrCAD, Mentor Graphics xPedition, Altium Designer etc) and ability to review complex digital and analog circuits layout
• PCB Design: Experience with multi-layer stack-up design (8-16 layers) and layout guidelines for Power Delivery of different processor rails including IMVP Rails
• Power Integrity: Strong understanding of Power Delivery design, power budgeting and Power Integrity practices with hands-on experience in PI simulation tools (Cadence Sigrity and Siemens HyperLynx)
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Good understanding of board manufacturing guidelines, DFM/DFT practices, and assembly processes
• Debug Skills: Hands-on experience with board power-on and debugging, especially Intel processor-based platform debugging using lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, electronic load etc.)
• Problem Solving: Ability to analyze debug results, ensure correct functionality, triage failures, and develop corrective actions
• Customer Support: Capability to provide technical support to customer queries on Power Delivery design and assist with board debug and power-on support
• Communication: Good listening and communication skills for effective customer interaction
Preferred Qualifications
• Customer Facing Experience: Previous experience in customer-facing roles with ability to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with Intel platform architecture, chipsets, and ecosystem components
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of EMI/EMC requirements and compliance testing procedures
• Industry Standards: Knowledge of industry standards (JEDEC, USB-3.2 Type C Power Delivery, etc.) related to power delivery and platform design
• Training & Documentation: Experience creating technical documentation, application notes, and conducting training sessions for customers
• Presentation Skills: Ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences at various organizational levels
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing customer requirements and urgent support requests
