BMS Applications Engineer (m/f/d)

As an important part of NXP’s electrification strategy, the Battery Management Systems (BMS) business is growing into the next phase with the ambition of becoming one of the largest semiconductor suppliers in the segment, by constantly creating added value for our customers and partners. We are looking for reinforcement in the field of Applications Engineering with strong focus on BMS systems validation.

Position Overview

As a BMS Applications Engineer – Systems & Validation, you will be part of the System and Applications team, working in the system validation laboratory. You will contribute to the validation and testing of advanced BMS system offerings, including Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) systems and new algorithm implementations, Ultra-Wideband Wireless BMS (uwBMS) solutions, and the Smart Edge Battery Management System (seBMS) concept.

In this role, you will also be an active member of the customer support team, closely collaborating with sales, field application engineers (FAEs), and marketing, while interfacing directly with automotive and industrial BMS customers. Your close collaboration with the global applications team, your deep understanding of the BMS product portfolio, and your expertise in BMS system solutions will be key to supporting our customers in the best possible way throughout design, validation, and deployment phases.

Job Responsibilities

• Customer contact for BMS systems and applications related topics
• Support customer issues and system tests in close collaboration with sales, marketing, and FAEs
• Support full BMS system validation, including lab-based testing and evaluation
• Coordinate system validation laboratory activities, including test setups and execution
• Support the scope and content of future BMS reference designs and demonstrations
• Support the definition and assessment of future BMS system architectures
• Develop technical content and deliver trainings for distributors and customers

Qualifications

• Education / studies: BSEE required
• At least 4 years of experience in automotive or industrial BMS system validation or IC validation
• Experience in systems and applications engineering; good high-level understanding of BMS algorithms preferred
• Hands-on experience with embedded systems, PCB design, and analog circuits
• Self-motivation and business orientated person preferred.
• Good problem-solving skills and structured engineering mindset
• Experience working in international and interdisciplinary teams
• Good written and verbal communication skills
