Key Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring the safe & efficient offloading and storage of liquid bulk raw materials, whilst avoiding waste and achieving the desired quality standards.

Key Activities:

  • Receive and control all bulk liquid raw materials, including HDPE Polymer.
  • Control the delivery schedule of chemical raw materials, working with Logistics and Blending team to plan and co–ordinate deliveries.
  • Completion of relevant documentation, including SAP transactions on receipt of deliveries.
  • Ensure relevant materials are tested, sampled and positioned ready for use.
  • Control, storage, disposal of waste raw materials and support with the treatment and disposal of effluent waste as and when required by Line Manager.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained. Ensure the tanker offloading yard, perimeter next to Tank farm/river and offloading pump room are to be clean, tidy and free of any debris or chemical spillages/leaks.
  • Manage delivery drivers to comply with RMB Health & Safety standards and advise Line Manager if any issues arise that you cannot resolve with the drivers.
  • Operating the ES dilution rig. Sampling finished mix and transferring into storage tanks.
  • Provide test samples for R & D as required.
  • Conducting the Blending Hygiene & Housekeeping daily audit and ensure that any non conformances are reported to your Team Manager. Follow up any outstanding H & H actions until they are completed.
  • Stock counting of bulk liquid chemical raw materials & perfumes daily and advise Line Manager of any low stock levels or concerns.
  • Cover other departmental roles and any other duties within reason as required by your Line Manager.
     

Key Result Areas:

  • Materials are received in the correct quantity and quality.
  • Control of delivery times v agreed plans.
  • Departmental safe working practices and procedures are followed.
  • Demonstrate that drivers are fully compliant with RMB HSE rules and procedures.
  • Completion of scheduled audits and advise Line Manager of any non – conformances.
     

Relevant and Quantifiable Measures:

  • All SAP transactions are accurate & completed within the shift.
  • All documentation is up to date and filed in an orderly and auditable fashion.
  • No demurrage charges are accepted without preauthorisation from Line Manager
  • Control of tanker vehicle activity

  • Self Starter: the individual is expected to work with a small number of colleagues within the team, also will have the ability to work with customers (internal and external) with limited supervision. Also, need to have the ability to be able to think for themselves.
  • Good interpersonal skills and attitudes; working as a member of a small team under pressure, the ability to interact positively with colleagues is vitally important.

Technical Competencies & Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • 2 Years experience within a chemical blending/manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Literacy and numeracy to good standards in Maths and English
  • Good RMB SAP system capability is essential.
  • Exposure to and understanding of Process Industry Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’S) is desirable.
  • Reach and counterbalance truck licences are required

  • Reports any safety hazards and environment risks within the work area, or malfunction of any machine, plant or equipment to the immediate manager.
  • Complies with all written or verbal instructions given to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Uses safety equipment and/or protective clothing as required by the task in hand. E.g. Ear/Eye protection, Safety Footwear etc
  • Reports all incidents to the immediate manager whether injury is sustained or not, including environment incidents.
  • Observes the Fire Evacuation Procedure and learns the position of all fire equipment and exit routes.
     

Quality

  • Understands and takes responsibility for quality
  • Understands and follows all quality procedures and specifications.
  • Reports substandard or unsatisfactory work/products.
     

SAP

  • Has a thorough knowledge of SAP transactions and processes associated with the Blending function.

  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
