Job Title: Blackstone Finance – Associate
 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accounting for Blackstone Credit drawdown funds leveraging the fund’s general ledger (“GL”) and internal work papers.
  • Oversee the review of daily bank activities, managing cash with the deal team.
  • Maintain information and reconcile loan investments and debt financings in the GL system and internal work papers to loan tracking models.
  • Review quarterly/annual financial statements, quarterly capital statements, LP distributions and capital call notifications, Blackstone reporting deliverables, and quarterly work papers for internal review and quarterly reporting support.
  • Collaborate with the deal team, legal team, tax, treasury and operations teams on new investments and restructures.
  • Review management fee calculations, rebates and offsets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review realized and unrealized waterfall calculations.
  • Review the gross levered/unlevered and Net IRR calculations.
  • Manage the day-to-day of the offshore COE team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of work papers and reconciliation files.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators.
  • Manage upward – communicating any issues and helping come up with solutions.
  • Prepare support analyses for partnership activities to external auditors for year-end audits and partnership tax returns.
  • Oversee financial portion of the regulatory filings for Form PF, ADV and AIFMD.
  • Perform other duties and assist with ad hoc projects and systems implementation as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel to prepare detailed financial packages and accounting workpapers.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting and/or private funds administration.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Investran to book journal entries related to Credit Drawdown Funds.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using nVision, Geneva and Axiom to review fund formations and investment activities, and perform reconciliations between fund accounting and mid-office data.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Oracle and MDM for Investran journal entry booking and expenses tracking.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using Sigma to perform cross-unit reconciliations as well as other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with the client’s different teams, including their deal team, middle-office team, and legal team, to obtain updates and  enhancing knowledge of private funds and investment activities.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience calculating management fees and performance fees for different fund structures.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience coordinating with different internal teams for cross-unit collaborations to deliver great results for the client.
  • Experience can be concurrent.

Expected annual base salary range:

$110,000 - $150,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
