Major Responsibilities:
- Appropriately applies statistical methodologies and provides in-depth, sophisticated analyses. Assists scientists and more senior biostatisticians in the analysis and interpretation of large and complex data.
- Manages and executes the analytic project life cycle, including conducting literature review, creating and maintaining the analysis plan, data dictionary, acquisition and cleaning, conducting statistical analyses, interpreting findings, communicating findings to scientists and clinical leaders, and contributing to presentations and publications.
- Coordinates complex data requests with the research analytics team.
- Provides consultation to scientists and investigators on research design, statistical methodologies and analysis plan, and the interpretation and communication of findings.
- For reporting research to clinical and leadership audiences, creates concise summaries of key conclusions and translates sophisticated statistical analyses into understandable conclusions and recommendations.
- Analyzes and interprets administrative data, clinical data, and other types of data and measures.
- Acts as key contact for assigned research collaborators, coordinating assigned work associated with the project, managing data, analytic and interpretive aspects to completion within the scope of the contract or grant.
- Contributes to meetings with research teams, stakeholders and external collaborators.
- Facilitates and leads educational sessions and training of investigators, research teams, and research staff. Acts as a resource for others within the internal research community.
- Contributes to grant submissions and the dissemination of findings as supporting contributor in writing proposals, abstracts, manuscripts and presentations.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Education Required:
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or related field, or
- Master's Degree in Public Health or related field, or
- Master's Degree in Biostatistics or related field.
Experience Required:
- No experience required. experience with data management and analysis of health-related data highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Proficient in classical statistical methods, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, sample size determination, ANOVA, and regression analysis.
- Proficient in statistical software (R, SAS, STATA, or SPSS).
- Proficient in data management, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets.
- Comfortable in providing consultations with scientists and investigators re: research design, methods and analyses, results interpretation, and preparing abstracts, presentations and publications.
- Proficient with MS-Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relational databases (e.g., REDCap).
- Very good communication and presentation skills. Able to effectively translate complex analyses, results and interpretation.
- Ability to establish, maintain and improve rapport with collaborators and work well in a team environment. Customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to multi-task under pressure, meet deadlines and work with high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving and relationship building skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Will generally be exposed to rapid-pace and complex health care environment.
- Remote work with in-person presence (e.g., site visits, recruitment activities, meetings) as needed.
- This position may require ability to drive and/or travel to work related meetings/functions and thus is exposed to road, weather, and normal travel hazards.
