Job Description:

Parsons are seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator to support design coordination, engineering review, and construction delivery on a major airfield development project. This role requires a strong engineering and BIM background with hands-on experience coordinating cargo apron and airside infrastructure models across multiple disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in BIM coordination on large-scale infrastructure or airport projects, ensuring model accuracy, clash-free design, and alignment with project and aviation authority standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, AGL, and systems for airfield and cargo apron works.
  • Ensure accurate integration of cargo apron pavements, utilities, lighting interfaces, and apron equipment foundations within the federated model.
  • Manage model versions, updates, and data exchange in accordance with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
  • Support engineering review by validating design intent through model-based coordination and visualization.
  • Review BIM models against approved drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Identify design conflicts, constructability issues, and interface risks, proposing coordinated solutions with engineering teams.
  • Perform clash detection using Navisworks or equivalent tools, focusing on cargo apron utilities, drainage, electrical, and AGL interfaces.
  • Prepare clash reports, track issues, and coordinate resolution with designers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Ensure timely closure of BIM-related technical queries.
  • Provide BIM support during construction, assisting field teams with model-based verification and sequencing.
  • Coordinate incorporation of site changes, RFIs, and approved variations into BIM models.
  • Ensure accurate development of as-built models for cargo apron and airside infrastructure.
  • Coordinate daily with engineers, designers, and construction teams to align BIM deliverables with project schedules.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, engineering workshops, and progress reviews.
  • Serve as the key BIM interface between contractors, consultants, and the project management team.
  • Maintain BIM coordination logs, clash reports, and issue trackers.
  • Prepare weekly BIM progress and coordination reports.
  • Ensure compliance with project BIM standards, naming conventions, and data management protocols.
  • Ensure BIM deliverables comply with project BIM standards, ISO 19650, and airport authority requirements.
  • Support audits and reviews of BIM processes and deliverables.
  • Promote best practices in BIM coordination and digital delivery.
  • Guide and support BIM modelers and junior coordinators across disciplines.
  • Promote collaborative working practices and continuous improvement in BIM processes.
  • Support training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the BIM team.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in BIM coordination on large infrastructure, airport, or airfield projects.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cargo apron and airside BIM models across multiple disciplines.
  • Proficiency in BIM software including Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, construction sequencing, and design coordination.
  • Experience with clash detection, issue management, and model-based design review.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple BIM workstreams.
  • Experience with BIM implementation for airfield pavements, utilities, and apron systems.
  • Knowledge of 4D/5D BIM, digital twins, or asset information models.
  • Certification in BIM or digital engineering (e.g., Autodesk, buildingSMART).
  • Experience working to international standards such as ISO 19650.
  • Experience on major airport cargo hub or logistics-focused projects is an advantage.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.
