Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and executing billing processes for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance agency accounts within a centralized billing structure. This role ensures accurate invoicing and resolution of billing discrepancies while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Billing Operations

  • Generate and process invoices for agency-billed P&C policies in accordance with established timelines.
  • Validate premium amounts, endorsements, and adjustments before issuing bills.
  • Ensure billing accuracy by reviewing broker invoices and carrier binders/quotes, checking policy screen setup (commission, payable entity, producer commission) before transacting.

Agency Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for agency billing inquiries with local office service teams.
  • Work with local service teams on premium finance questions and clarification as necessary.
  • Assist agencies with understanding centralized billing processes and system navigation.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new billing tools.

Education, Training and Experience

  • 2+ years in insurance billing, accounting, or related financial operations; P&C insurance experience strongly preferred.

The typical base pay for this role nationwide is $65K per year

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
