Supports ongoing maintenance of customer accounts, payment billing systems, and client billing. Ensures payments received through a variety of channels are recognized and posted against the correct account and invoice.

  • Collaborates with Relationship Managers to structure, finalize and implement billing agreements for high-value clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintains comprehensive billing documentation, ensuring accuracy for internal controls, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Handles collection efforts for unpaid invoice accounts, using data-driven insights to mitigate risk, negotiate payment terms, and escalate cases when necessary to maintain cash flow and prevent financial loss.
  • Supervises the full payment processing cycle, ensuring reconciliation of billing files across all products (ACH, OLBB, etc.), and manages discrepancies by working with product management and sales to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Manages the fee billing workflow, including pricing terms and invoicing schedules, ensuring that inquiries, requests, and disputes are tracked, prioritized, and resolved within defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Drives the implementation of customized billing arrangements, including bundled services, volume-based pricing, and negotiated feese tailored to client needs and correctly integrated into the billing systems.
  • Leads the design, implementation, and management of core billing processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, and driving continuous improvement across teams.
  • Generates insights from billing data trends and leads the analysis to uncover issues, propose system and process improvements, and implement solutions that enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supports execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participates in the management of vendor relationships.
  • Structures, negotiates and finalizes billing agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy across client accounts.
  • Monitors overdue accounts, negotiates payment terms, initiates collection activities, and escalates high-risk cases to mitigate financial risk.
  • Manages the payment processing lifecycle and billing workflows, ensuring accurate allocation of payments, resolving discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Ensures alignment with client agreements and operational guidelines.
  • Designs and implements customized billing arrangements to meet client and operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • 4 – 6 years of relevant experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collections, or Financial Operations in a corporate or banking environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered. 
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Salary:

$51,800.00 - $95,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
