Job Summary
The Billing Director is responsible for the oversight and leadership of the Revenue Cycle department and staff. The role encompasses the planning, direction, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of the day-to-day operations of the department. They will work in collaboration with leadership to ensure billing functions are efficient and accurate. They will embrace and drive change while identifying and pursuing opportunities for maximizing revenue. This position is a remote role with the ability to sit within any US locality.
Compensation: $132,000- $191,000 Annually with potential bonus
Responsibilities:
Directly supervise Billing Managers and provide oversight, leadership, and guidance for the department
Serve as the subject matter expert and go-to person for all revenue cycle processes
Develop and implement procedures for continual quality improvement in billing to improve the accuracy and timely submission of all data to process claims according to compliance guidelines
Work with enterprise leadership to identify operations that can be modified to enhance revenue
Accountable for being knowledgeable and understanding of all aspects of the revenue cycle staff
Perform timely audits for current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of billing and collections operations
Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
Keep apprised of trends impacting charge, coding, collection, and other billing functions and take appropriate action accordingly
Participate in ongoing education efforts to keep on top of changing regulations and compliance requirements

Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
Medical Coding or Billing certification preferred
5+ years of experience in medical billing and collections required
Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Teams
Previous experience with an electronic medical/health record; AdvancedMD experience preferred
Detailed knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes, HIPAA, medical terminology, and other associated medical billing regulations
Proven experience in a leadership/supervisory role
Ability to work effectively as a team member with a strong collaborative management style
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
