As a Bilingual Japanese Sales Planner, you’ll play a critical role within the Center of Success (CoS), working cross‑functionally with Sales, Trading, Data & Analytics (DnA), Product, L&D and Marketing across the JAPAC footprint, with a primary focus on Japan. You’ll support client acquisition, help drive growth, and ensure prospects and clients receive thoughtful, accurate and strategic planning support, acting as a key bridge between Japanese‑speaking stakeholders and the wider regional team.

 

What you’ll be doing

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  1. Sales Planning & Delivery

Craft and deliver accurate, thorough, and compelling proposals within RFP deadlines for Japan and SEA markets, ensuring local nuance and business context are reflected appropriately.Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.Strategize with Sales Leads and in‑market teams during pre‑sale periods to grow existing business and win new opportunities, with particular emphasis on Japan‑related briefs.

  1. Strategic Support & Insight Generation
  • Collaborate with regional Sales teams across SEA and Japan to understand client objectives and campaign goals, ensuring clear translation and interpretation where Japanese is required.
  • Conduct market research and audience analysis to inform media strategy and planning, leveraging understanding of both Japanese and broader SEA consumer behavior.
  • Partner with Data & Analytics teams to develop data‑driven insights and pre‑campaign recommendations for RFPs, helping localize narratives for Japanese‑speaking clients where needed.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity and new product offerings to provide strategic value.

 

  1. Proposal development & quality assurance
  • Develop customised media proposals aligned with client requirements and strategic recommendations, ensuring clarity and accuracy in both Japanese and English where applicable.
  • Support the creation of visually engaging pitch decks and presentations for client meetings, including content localization or adaptation for Japanese‑speaking stakeholders.
  • Ensure all proposals and materials are accurate, well organised and aligned with MiQ brand guidelines.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail and timeline discipline to meet local team and client expectations across multiple markets.
  1. Collaboration & communication
  • Partner with Sales and Trading teams to customise MiQ’s product suite to client needs.
  • Work cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders across regions, building strong relationships and navigating cultural and market differences to find solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and stakeholders, adapting your style and language (Japanese/English) to drive positive outcomes.
  • Build strong knowledge of MiQ products and capabilities to confidently support internal and external conversations across all supported markets.

  • Bring curiosity and creativity to find new ways of working and process improvements.
  • Be open to testing new approaches that improve efficiency, accuracy and impact, particularly in how we support multiple markets from a centralized hub.



YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Business‑level Japanese and English proficiency (spoken and written), with the ability to understand complex commercial and technical concepts and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with Japanese stakeholders or markets (clients, agencies, or internal teams) is a strong plus.
  • Genuine interest in digital media, advertising and/or programmatic, with a desire to learn sales planning from the ground up.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail; eager to build good habits around managing multiple briefs, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a willingness to build relationships with teammates across markets and functions.
  • A proactive, learning-oriented mindset – you ask questions, seek feedback and take ownership of your tasks.
  • Strong alignment with MiQ’s core values and culture and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
