Why is this position important? 

The Clinical Manager is responsible for managing the Nurse Case Management team within a specific territory. The Clinical Manager will provide operational oversight and ensure the case management team delivers excellence in customer service to patients and health care providers. 

 

Provide leadership to a team of Nurses providing case management expertise to patients, caregivers and physicians. This role is accountable to ensure clinical standards are adhered to, processes and policies are followed, and that patient care is at the forefront of all interactions. Provide expert advice and guidance to the case management team, responsible for interacting with patient questions and concerns relating to the various therapeutic areas. The Clinical Manager will ensure physicians support is customized to meet the prescribers needs resulting in increased patient enrollment and best patient outcomes. Plan, manage and direct the workforce and work in collaboration with the patient care services teams to ensure overall business objectives are met.  

 

What you will do: 

  • Leads, mentors and coaches a team of professional nurses – nationally, ensuring they have the support and tools necessary to provide excellent patient care 

  • Ensures prescribing physician needs are customized and met  

  • Continually monitors, evaluates and refines services to maximize cost effectiveness of service delivery model to ensure best practice patient care and program delivery  

  • Forecasts and allocates resources to support geographical needs of the program 

  • Responsible for the planning and coordination of the training of all new staff and to maximize the effectiveness of each individual through further training opportunities as required 

  • Works collaboratively with clinical leadership in the development of required operational procedures, work instructions and ensure the team adheres to company policy and procedures 

  • Establish performance standards, drive execution and monitor achievement of all case management activities including all patient, clinic calls and interactions  

  • Review and approve Case Management expenditures  

  • Participates as a key member of the clinical leadership team  

  • Represents case management as a subject matter expert in business development opportunities  

  • Works collaboratively with all business units  

  • Ensures effective use of resources, anticipates and leads change initiatives to strengthen team and case management processes  

  • Responsible to align all team efforts to deliver high quality customer service, professional and complete adverse event and product complaints recording and reporting  

  • Acts as a delegate for the Senior Manager, Clinical Services when required  

  • Responsible to manage and deliver on business objectives defined for the Case Management Team  

  • Responsible to maximize service delivery by establishing and measuring metrics; speed of answer, service level, abandoned call rate, quality and overall customer experience  

  • Responsible to drive continuous quality improvement for each team member  

  • Responsible to identify program improvement suggestions in keeping with Client Marketing Strategy, will assist all teams with delivering success on these strategies  

  • Participate as required in any client meetings 

  • Ensure all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) are reported immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures.  

 

What you will need: 

  • Registered nurse with a current license in the province(s) of employment, BScN preferred 

  • 7 or more years of direct clinical experience; A minimum of five years of previous supervisory experience leading a team of professional nurses 

  • Previous case management experience is an asset 

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (bilingual French/English is an asset and mandatory depending on territory) 

  • Knowledge of Canadian and provincial health systems; knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy services 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in computer use; excellent customer service skills 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment with multiple priorities 

  • Some travel required; use of an insured automobile for work and a valid driver’s license
