VACANCY FOR BID ENGINEER – PRINTED CIRCUIT HEAT EXCHANGERS
Join us as a Bid Engineer – Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers based in Pune to support the bid activities for assigned enquiries with medium to high complexity for Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers applications as well as to develop process technology know-how at a medium to a high level.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:
- Provide bid support for Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers for ETO projects. The Bid Engineer will also support for other Welded Heat Exchangers. There will be an induction & training on the Products.
- Review customers’ specifications and have explicit understanding of the requirement. Understand customer drivers to make the right proposals. Attend meetings with customers and consultants, when required.
- Participate in Bid Kick off meetings as well as technical clarification meetings and have alignment with Sales wrt offering.
- Prepare equipment configurations, deviations clarifications list, technical specifications, costing & quotations, resolution of bid queries.
- Ensure competitive, accurate and timely formulation of quotation documents, in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Consult with internal departments (Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics) to identify impediments of customer requirements in detailed to be able to efficiently define our offerings in terms of cost, lead time manufacturing feasibilities etc. Interact and coordinate with international colleagues (Europe based).
- Proactive risk assessment. Identify, understand and coordinate potential risks happening on the execution phase and endeavour to eliminate or mitigate them in bid stage.
- Adherence to Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure that Alfa Laval proposal complies with requirements while maximizing value to the customer and Alfa Laval.
- Actively consulting Sales and Operations colleagues, also via lesson learnt.
- Support/drive improvements in bid process
- Support in driving development of tools, templates for bids.
Who you are?
As a person, you are customer oriented, a team player, outgoing, proactive with a willingness to learn & collaborate with associated stakeholders. You are structured in your approach & comfortable with working on multiple overlapping assignments. You have a discerning eye for the details as well as able to have a holistic view of the situation.
Your background
- Mechanical/Chemical Engineer having at least 3 years of experience in the field of quotation preparation or project management, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Pulp & Paper industries
- Knowledge & exposure to heat exchanger thermal design & sizing would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant Standards & Codes ASME, PED, API etc.
- Knowledge of NDE’s, Inspections performed on heat exchangers would be added advantage
- Proactive approach in learning ability and motivated to drive the challenges
- Knowledge & exposure to costing fundamentals, incoterms, commercial terms.
- Ability of working individually and independently as well as in team
- Good skills with MS Excel & Word.
- Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English, basic knowledge in French is a plus
