Your New Role
You’ll play a pivotal role shaping and implementing the BI and Analytics practice at Australian Ethical. Your focus will be on transforming extensive, diverse data sources into visually compelling insights which play a crucial role in informing business decisions, shaping business strategy and optimising overall performance. You’ll work collaboratively within the Data team, as well as the broader business to bring data to life!
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Build and maintain high-performing, scalable data models for reporting and analysis
- Establish a BI and Analytics practice aligned to business goals, including standards for analysis, modelling and visualisation
- Deliver clear, user-friendly dashboards and reports that make complex data easy to understand
- Partner with stakeholders to understand needs and translate requirements into reporting and visualisation solutions
- Use advanced analytics for forecasting and predictive modelling to uncover actionable insights
- Maintain data quality by validating accuracy and integrity across the BI and Analytics lifecycle
- Document data models, dashboard designs and processes to support reuse, collaboration and knowledge transfer
- Monitor BI solution performance and optimise data models and visualisations as needed
- Support users with BI tools and reports, including troubleshooting access, data and reporting issues
- Keep up to date with BI, analytics and data visualisation trends and tools
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement practical changes
What we’re looking for
You're a passionate BI professional with a proven track record in developing and scaling BI and analytics capability. You have strong stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to elicit and prioritise requirements and translate them into effective dashboards and automated reporting solutions where appropriate.
If you are a collaborative, creative thinker and have most the following, we’d love to hear from you:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering BI platforms and reporting solutions, with strong Power BI capability (essential)
- At least 3 years’ experience in a comparable role within Financial Services; funds management and/or superannuation experience is preferred
- Demonstrated end-to-end delivery of BI and analytics capability, from discovery and requirements through to build and rollout
- Proven ability to synthesise complex, disparate datasets into insights that enable decisions and support business growth
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage a delivery backlog
- Advanced SQL capability (SQL Server ideal), including development and optimisation of complex queries
- Sound knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT patterns and data governance practices
- Strong data modelling skills (dimensional and logical); experience with 3NF and ERD design is beneficial
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
