What you will do in this role
The BFSI Business Unit Manager acts as the strategic and operational right hand to the EMEA BFSI Sector Lead, ensuring the sector delivers against its commercial, operational, and strategic objectives.
This role blends business performance management, governance, insight generation, and strategic enablement. The postholder will own the day-to-day orchestration of the BFSI operating model, ensuring clarity of data, excellence in reporting, rigour in governance, and consistent execution across countries and accounts.
They will bring strong financial services sector knowledge, an analytical mindset, and exceptional coordination and communication skills.
Reports to: BFSI EMEA Sector Lead. No Direct Reports.
Responsibilities:
1. Business Intelligence, Performance Tracking & Insight
- Build, maintain, and continuously enhance a comprehensive EMEA BFSI performance dashboard - tracking revenue, margin, pipeline, CSAT, renewals, and transformation mix by client, country, and subsector.
- Work with Salesforce and analytics teams to design and animate dashboards that accurately reflect business growth progress and pipeline quality.
- Partner with Finance to create robust P&L reporting and financial files for monthly and quarterly governance discussions.
- Conduct trend analysis to highlight growth opportunities, margin pressure, and at-risk clients, supporting data-driven decisions.
- Bring market intelligence and competitive insight into sector strategy discussions, ensuring CNX BFSI remains informed by the latest financial services trends and benchmarks.
2. Sector Knowledge, Case Studies & Market Positioning
- Act as the custodian of all BFSI case studies, client success stories, and references, ensuring the right examples are used across EMEA markets.
- Maintain a centralised repository of sector collateral, playbooks, and best-practice materials.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Bid teams to refresh and elevate BFSI materials aligned to transformation and technology-led narratives.
- Support new pursuits and renewals by providing case studies and insights that strengthen proposals and client engagement.
3. Governance, Reporting & Executive Communication
- Own the BFSI governance cadence - scheduling meetings, setting agendas, coordinating inputs, and producing executive-quality packs.
- Prepare all materials for BFSI Council meetings, Portfolio Reviews, and EMEA Board updates.
- Create compelling PowerPoint and Excel outputs that translate complex data into clear, insightful narratives for senior leadership.
- Track and ensure closure of all actions and commitments arising from governance sessions.
- Partner with the Sector Lead to track progress against strategic objectives, flag risks, and keep leadership accountable, including “keeping the Sector Lead honest” on agreed priorities and outcomes.
4. Client Health, Growth & Performance Management
- Maintain a centralised view of client health across all BFSI accounts, consolidating CSAT, renewal likelihood, revenue trends, and delivery quality.
- Ensure client health insights are integrated into performance and governance packs.
- Track progress against account-level growth plans, highlighting underperforming areas and driving follow-up actions with Account Executives.
- Coordinate with Account Executives and Country CCOs to ensure timely responses to emerging risks or opportunities.
5. Strategic Enablement & Continuous Improvement
- Operationalise and continuously improve the BFSI Operating Model, embedding governance structures, reporting processes, and playbooks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across BFSI operations (data automation, reporting simplification, knowledge-sharing).
- Support preparation of business cases and investment proposals for BFSI initiatives.
- Act as a thought partner to the Sector Lead, contributing ideas, insights, and constructive challenge to strategic decision-making.

- Proven experience in the banking, financial services, or fintech sector, ideally in operations, strategy, transformation, or business management roles.
- Likely to have worked within a major bank or financial institution, or within a consulting / outsourcing partner to BFSI clients.
- Experience in or exposure to “Business Manager” / “Chief of Staff” / “Strategy & Operations” roles supporting a senior leader or business unit head; managing performance, reporting, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Deep familiarity with BFSI operations for example:
- Retail, business, or investment banking processes.
- Payments ecosystems - card processing, instant payments, digital wallets.
- Collections and recoveries operations, particularly in regulated lending environments.
- Compliance and risk management - Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Fraud Prevention, Financial Crime (FinCrime), and Know Your Customer (KYC).
- Customer service and experience transformation in BFSI contexts.
- Proven understanding of financial services regulation and the commercial sensitivities of operating within FCA / PRA / ECB / other European regulatory frameworks.
Functional Expertise
- Strong data and performance management skills - comfortable manipulating complex financial and operational data, identifying insights, and drawing conclusions.
- Experience building and managing governance structures, performance dashboards, and executive reporting packs.
- Confident working with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) and BI tools to track pipeline and performance.
- Familiar with P&L and financial reporting constructs - able to interpret margin drivers, cost allocations, and business unit performance.
- Comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams - Sales, Delivery, Finance, and Marketing, and synthesising information into clear recommendations.
