The Position

Bentonite Mining Engineer

Job Summary

Job Purpose

Bentonite mining engineer's core purpose is to develop and supervise the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible extraction of minerals. He/she manages the entire life cycle of a mine, ensuring operations meet strict safety standards, annual targets and regulatory requirements.

Your responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate bentonite mining operations 

  • Implementation of annual bentonite mines exploitation plan, ensuring the appropriate quality 

  • Ensure compliance with EHS & KMLE regulations

  • Monitor and optimize extraction processes

  • Collaborate with geological department

  • Prepare and manage budgets and project schedules

  • Develop and implement mining software solutions

  • Manage stripping activities 

  • Prepare technical reports and documentation

  • Supervision & coordination of mining & transportation contractors 

  • Represent Imerys with local community stakeholders

  • Validate and report data in SAP

  • Participate in monthly & quarterly Hub review meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mineral Resources Engineering

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role 

  • Excellent knowledge of G-suite

  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral

  • Knowledge of SAP & Surpack

  • Strong communication & analytical skills
