This position is beingly newly added to the International Benefits team in acknowledgement of the growth in the APAC region. The role will be responsible for the development of the overall employee benefit strategy, execution of the benefit and wellbeing program, including physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing.
You'll be responsible for the strategic direction, planning, alignment, and design of State Street benefits, retirement and wellbeing strategy across the APAC and India region.
Knowledge of multiple countries’ benefits including retirements, for India, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Australia is added advantage.
Extensive experience in leading the design, delivery and transformation of regional and global benefits plans, employee engagement strategy, HR risk governance and compliance management.
The individual should have prior experience managing benefits within the region with strong knowledge of plan administration and compliance critical for success. The ideal candidate will have strong technical benefits knowledge, good communication skills, and the ability to effectively partner with internal stakeholders within Global Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, and business leaders in region.
This individual should not be afraid to ‘roll up their sleeves’ and should anticipate involvement in all aspects of benefit management from operations to risk and compliance to strategy and planning.
The individual must have the ability to think critically and work effectively in a matrix organization.
Collaboration with other teams including Finance, Payroll and ER.
Experience of managing a team would be beneficial.
Specific responsibilities include:
Responsible for day-to-day management of all benefits and retirement programs across APAC and India including coordination with external consultants, tracking plan financials, developing and delivering employee communications, managing external vendors, etc.
Supporting the Global Benefits team in the development of both short- and long-term benefits strategies.
Management of projects and programs, including RFPs, transitions to new vendors, benefit/vendor implementations, etc. to support State Street’s benefits strategy while improving efficiency and managing costs.
Collaborate with external benefits consultants/brokers, administrators and vendors and effectively manage those vendor partners to ensure performance, maximize value and oversee vendor management activities relating to regional benefit vendors.
Project management and implementation of new benefit initiatives, including initial cost benefit / market analysis, implementation, and communications.
Partner with the business to understand their current and expected needs with respect to using benefits to attract or retain staff.
Oversee, manage, and coordinate any annual benefits enrolment processes in conjunction with external partners such as insurers and plan administrators.
Monitor external market practice and trends in APAC, including benchmarking and recommendation of benefit changes required, ensuring changes are cost effective and in line with global benefits strategy.
Management of regional employee wellness program across APAC.
Lead M&A projects across APAC region.
Strong risk management experience including vendor due diligence and onboarding.
Skills and Experience
8 + years of benefits experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Fluency in written and oral English. Other Asian language knowledge a plus.
Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with effective time management skills
High attention to detail
Ability to deliver high quality work and to work under pressure with attention to detail
Ability to interact with all levels of employees, management and manage confidential information in a professional manner
