Benefits Account and Marketing Assistant

Brown & Brown is seeking a Benefits Account and Marketing Assistant to join their growing team in the Pryor, OK!

This position serves as support for the entire benefits department. This position is primarily responsible for marketing, assistance with data entry, eligibility, and production of materials.

How you will Contribute

  • Provide general assistance to Account Managers and Producers

  • Be responsible for marketing account, under the direction of Producer/Account Managers

    • Request early renewal release and claims experience from carriers 120 days prior to effective date on large group (over 100) and 90 days prior for small group (under 100) employees 

    • Preparation of RFP for review with Producer/Account Manager 

    • Prepare marketing/presentation materials as defined in the Marketing/Renewal Checklist

    • Agree on timeline with Producer/Account Manager for everything involving the marketing process and monitor closely.  Maintain constant communication with the Producer/Account Manager regarding progress and keep the Producer/Account Manager informed if the process is off track

    • Release RFP to selected carriers after approval

    • Follow-up, receive and review quotes received from carriers and file in agency system

    • Keep RFP Tracking tools up to date

    • Negotiate with incumbent and other carriers to achieve maximum value for client

    • Give all quotes and marketing correspondence with carriers to the Producer for plan spreadsheeting selections and/or requoting needs 

    • Finalize client presentation with Producer/Account Manager 

  • Maintain documents in benefits administration portals

  • Assist with creation of Benefit Guides

  • Promote teamwork, positive attitude, and commitment to department/agency goals

  • Follow agency guidelines, policies, and procedures 

  • Other duties as assigned EB Team leader

Skills & Experience to Be Successful: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

  • 1-3 years of experience in insurance or medical field (preferred)

  • High School diploma or equivalent 

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite 

  • Exceptional oral and written communication

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Prior employment or internship in an office setting

  • Life and Health Insurance Licenses within 12 months of Hire
