Reporting to the Head Behavioural Scientist in NTS' Research and Innovation team, you’ll play a meaningful role conducting a wide range of duties, including industry and academic literature reviews, analyses of prosecuted cases, interviews and focus groups, as well as quantitative analysis of market data and other datasets. The overarching goal is to provide actionable insights that guide the development and implementation of AI - driven product improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake in-depth qualitative and quantitative research to thoroughly understand customer problems and requirements.
- Apply behavioural science methods to elicit and document expert knowledge and decision-making from practitioners.
- Support product delivery leads and developers in translating research concepts into product features.
- Communicate research findings to executive decision-makers and non-technical audiences.
- Compose and facilitate focus groups and workshops with customers and users.
Required Criteria
- Master’s or PhD in behavioural science fields such as psychology, cognitive science, or behavioural economics.
- Proven track record in planning and delivering complex, applied research projects using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
- Strong communication skills for presenting findings to non-technical audiences and senior executives, in both written and oral formats.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Criteria
- Strong foundation in cognitive psychology concepts, models, and decision-making theories, with expertise in knowledge elicitation techniques such as Cognitive Task Analysis.
- Experience conducting research and analysis using real-world data
- Practical experience in technology or software development (ideally AI), combined with familiarity with financial markets or trade surveillance and basic programming skills in R or Python.
- Ability to integrate behavioural insights into applied contexts, improving technical and analytical tools to support sophisticated problem-solving.
This position will be located in London and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
