ING

Behavioural Change Professional

CDR (Amsterdam - Cedar) Full time

Over the past years, financial institutions have increasingly acknowledged that risk culture and employee behaviour can impact the soundness, risk profile, and integrity of financial institutions like ours. In all workplaces, also at ING, there is a risk that the way people behave could potentially lead to negative business outcomes. This type of risk is called ‘behavioural risk’.

The Risk Culture & Behavioural Risk (RC&BR) department was set up to put risk culture and behavioural risk on the agenda of the bank globally. ING’s risk culture is what allows employees to identify, understand, discuss and act upon the many financial and non-financial risks they’re confronted with every day. The RC&BR department provides a clear vision, aligned strategy and sound methodological approach to identify, assess, and bring change to the way employees of ING act on risks.

The team

The RC&BR department consists of two teams: the Assessment team and the Intervention team. We are looking for a Behavioural Change Professional to join the Intervention team.

The intervention team supports the business in moving from undesired towards desired behaviours, thereby mitigating behavioural risks. The team determines and designs interventions that impact all levels of the organisation. The approach is based on scientific insights and proven theories that are relevant in the context of behavioural risk mitigation and guiding behavioural interventions, contributing to effective and impactful change.

Role and responsibilities

As Behavioural Change Professional you work in a global context. You manage (senior) stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues across the entire organisation. Based on the outcomes of the Behavioural Risk Assessments and the yearly Risk Culture Maturity Report, you develop interventions and guide the business in the right direction with the goal to mitigate undesired behaviour. Your work is centred around preparing intervention roadmaps and initiating and facilitating the interventions.

This role will involve:

  • Designing, preparing, and facilitating interventions to mitigate undesired behaviours;

  • Collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders;

  • Advising and supporting senior management through the change process;

  • Evaluating and monitoring the effectiveness of the interventions.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

  • Strong affinity with human behaviour and the desire to understand it (e.g., group dynamics, decision making or organizational behaviour);

  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills: you are resilient, flexible, able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously;
