Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:00am to 3:30pm or 7:30am to 4:00pm; some flexibility

A licensed clinical professional responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services. This school-based and community facing position focuses on helping clients manage symptoms, improve coping mechanisms, achieve functional goals, and enhance overall psychological well-being. Ideal candidate possesses proficiency in various therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care), and a deep commitment to ethical practice and collaborative care.

*The LADC and CMFT licenses listed below are not necessary for this position.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Clinical Services (60%)

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, formulate diagnoses and determine appropriate levels of care.

    • Assess for risk of harm to self or others

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers and/or stakeholders to ensure holistic and integrated care.

  • Crisis Intervention

    • Respond to mental health crises and provide immediate support.

    • De-escalate crises and promote safety.

    • Facilitate and deliver critical incident response services and offer psychoeducation as requested

    • Connect clients with appropriate resources and services.

Documentation (25%)

  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential client records including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.

Leadership (10%)

  • Provide clinical oversight, support and precepting to PLMHP’s and LMHP’s including training and collaborating on the assessment and diagnostic process

Administrative Duties (5%)

  • Maintain productivity standards as required by program management

  • Participate in staff meetings and training

  • Assist with program development and evaluation.

  • Invest in regular networking with stakeholders and/or the community to promote the program and services, answer questions and ensure referrals.

  • Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure efficient operations.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or another human services related field

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of post-master’s clinical experience with major mental illness, counseling/therapy, and/or substance use/abuse treatment


License/Certifications

  • Nebraska Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) or Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP) required

  • Licensed Alcohol Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC) preferred

  • Certified Marriage and Family Therapist (CMFT) preferred

  • Capacity to understand and share the feelings of others.

  • Skill and ability to clearly express ideas and thoughts, both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to prioritize self-care to avoid burnout and maintain professional effectiveness. 

  • Ability to solicit and accept feedback for ongoing improvement and learning

  • Ability to work set hours for their specific position which may include early morning, and/or some evenings

  • Ability to travel occasionally between locations as needed

  • Ability to provide services via telehealth as needed.

  • Available for occasional on-call coverage as scheduled/necessary
