The BCA M&P Engineering organization supports Materials & processes across all BCA airplane programs, supply chain, fabrication, customer support, and BGS.  Our organization is dedicated to driving innovation and delivering advanced materials and technology solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the Engineering Operations of the BCA Materials & Processes Engineering Function (our Requirements, Tools and Processes) and the implementation of these across the BCA Programs (Functional Excellence).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of Program Developmental Needs and Portfolio alignment (BCA M&P/ BTI).
  • Participates in M&P Portfolio Reviews at the Enterprise BR&T Level to ensure Program Alignment.
  • Represents BCA M&P on the BCA Gated Process Document Team.
  • Primary Gate Reviewer for Gate Reviews below TRL/MRL 6.  Align BCA M&P Program experts for Gate Reviews above TRL/MRL 6.
  • Supports the definition of Program needs for Materials, Processes, Part Standards and related Design Guides, Design Manuals, and Design Practices as applied to the BCA Programs (working to have a level of consistency across programs). Act as a member of the MP&P Design Practice Steering Team.
  • Responsible for BCA M&P Accreditation Processes & Policies (Drwg Review, AQR, AQW).
  • Responsible for the BCA M&P related Process and Tools required to develop, define, build, and maintain our new and existing BCA Products, this includes new Model Based Engineering tools and processes as they relate to BCA.
  • Act as the primary BCA M&P contact for the Regulatory Agencies around the world (FAA, EASA, TCCA, etc.), through Reg Admin.
  • Ensure Technical excellence through appropriate training of engineers and technicians supporting BCA M&P activities.
  • Oversee the organizations approach to Risk Management, Program Scheduling, Producibility Assessment, Supplier Assessment/Evaluations, Process Robustness, Policy Documents and Risk, and Production System options and recommendations.
  • As the Technical Leader of the organization, coordinate names for M&P participation in Independent Technical Reviews, Tiger Team Reviews, Technical Special Attention Meetings, etc. set up work especially critical technical issues).
  • Act as the lead Technical Spokesman for the organization when required in support of NOE’s, Major Quality Issues, etc.
  • Represent BCA Engineering in M&P FCE Emerging Issues  weekly coordination meeting.
  • Responsible for rallying the team to come to come to technical consensus on a go-forward action plan.
  • Mentoring the BCA M&P leadership team in how to address technical issues.
  • Develop BCA M&P fellowship pipeline plans and utilization through deep connections with the fellowship community.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of Experience working in Materials & Processes in the production system.

  • Minimum of 10 years of Experience working in Materials & Processes with Engineering design teams. 

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading (formal and/or informal) cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience and technical leadership on a development and production programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in an engineering field of study.

  • Production and development experience.

  • Experience with process definition and improvement initiatives, including MBE/MBSE.

  • Experience with presenting to program leaders and to customers.

Summary pay range: $176,800 - $239,200
