Heidelberg Materials has a current/future job opening for a Batch Plant Operator at our Brantford Ontario Plant location.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate and actively control the batch plant system to produce consistent, high-quality ready-mix concrete
  • Monitor and adjust proportions of materials (aggregates, cement, water, and admixtures) based on mix design requirements, moisture levels, and changing conditions such as weather
  • Analyze variations in the batching process and make real-time adjustments from load to load to maintain product quality
  • Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, and plant personnel to ensure efficient and accurate production
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of batching and plant equipment
  • Maintain accurate batching, moisture, and production records while following safety, quality, and environmental standards

What Are We Looking For

  • Strong ability to monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot industrial batching or mixing processes, not just operate a machine
  • Experience working in ingredient-based production where quality depends on proper mixing and proportion control
  • Understanding of safety and quality control practices in a plant environment
  • Comfort using computer systems (SAP, Command Alkon, Marcotte) or automated batching controls in a production setting
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset to adapt to fast-paced and variable conditions

Work Environment

This role is based at a ready‑mix concrete plant and involves working both in a control room and in outdoor industrial settings. The position includes exposure to noise, dust, varying weather conditions, and moving equipment. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, and safety is a top priority.
