The Banquet Setup Attendant is responsible for the accurate and efficient setup, breakdown, and maintenance of banquet spaces at the hotel. This role ensures that all events meet client expectations by following Banquet Event Orders (EOs) and providing exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional demeanor in guest interactions, consistent and continually in accordance to the Autograph Collection standards under the franchise of Mainsail Lodging & Development
Essential Functions
- Set up and break down banquet spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, stages, and other equipment per event specifications and BEOs.
- Assist with banquet functions, including setting tables, chairs, linens, and banquet equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and order of work areas such as closets, carts, and storage spaces.
- Report any light outages, broken equipment, or room disparities to the manager, paying close attention to hallway areas and event rooms.
- Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of concerts and large scale events held at the Caloosa Sound Amphitheater, including staging, seating arrangements, and coordination with events team to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Assisted in maintaining an accurate inventory of banquet supplies such as chairs, tables, and linens and communicated inventory needs to the manager.
- Perform minor repairs to banquet furniture and equipment as needed, ensuring all items are safe and functional.
- Report any hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to the Banquet Manager.
- Acknowledge guests in all public spaces with a warm, friendly greeting and interact with them using personalization, such as using their names.
- Assist guests with any special requests or inquiries, ensuring professional and courteous communication at all times.
- Take initiative to handle assignments with limited supervision, following instructions and ensuring high-quality event setups.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to provide service excellence to guests and the banquet team.
Hotel Performance
- Ensure successful performance assisting guests with an exceptional experience to ensure high performing scores on the GSS according to Marriott
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience
- High School diploma or higher
- Previous hospitality experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time

- Ability to communicate clearly
- Corrected vision to normal range
- Ability to work long hours as needed
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
