The Banner Administrator II, under general supervision, operates within the Student Information Systems (SIS) team at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. This role supports the Banner ERP environment by assisting in the design and implementation of database operations, data integrity processes, and disaster recovery procedures, including testing and documentation. The Banner Administrator II performs complex and specialized SIS support functions such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, debugging, and problem resolution while collaborating closely with technical and functional stakeholders across the institution.
Banner ERP & Student Information Systems Support
Provide Tier II technical support for the Banner ERP system, including analysis, troubleshooting, debugging, and resolution of application and data-related issues.
Coordinate with Ellucian vendor support and internal technical teams to resolve escalated system incidents.
Monitor, manage, and document service requests and incidents through Zendesk and Ellucian support systems.
Apply routine data corrections and assist functional users with Banner-related issues in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Serve as a point of contact for SIS-related inquiries, ensuring appropriate routing and communication with stakeholders.
Communicate system outages, scheduled maintenance, and changes to affected campus users in a timely and professional manner.
Systems Administration, Automation & Technical Operations
Manage and maintain UC4/Automic job automation, including job development, scheduling, promotion, failure resolution, monitoring, and access control.
Develop, test, and maintain shell scripts, Python scripts, and SQL/PLSQL code to support data processing, reporting, file transfers, and scheduled operations.
Administer Linux servers, including system configuration, performance tuning, patching, and ongoing system maintenance.
Support storage systems and perform limited networking-related tasks, including DNS coordination, firewall rule support, and load balancer interaction within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Collaborate with system administrators and network teams to execute scheduled batch jobs, maintenance tasks, and operational requests.
Security, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate, approve, and maintain user access to Banner ERP, Banner Document Management (BDM), Argos, and SQL Developer in alignment with university security standards and business owner approvals.
Support disaster recovery planning and testing activities, including documentation, system validation, and recovery drills.
Assist with system security audits, access reviews, and enforcement of institutional and Texas A&M System security requirements.
Participate in change management processes, system integration testing, and the evaluation and implementation of new SIS-related technologies.
Collaborate with functional and technical staff to troubleshoot SIS database queries and reports; maintain accurate documentation for automation, procedures, and system configurations.

Education –bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience – Three years of related experience.
