Location: Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough

Hours: Flexible, zero-hour contract

The role:

We have a great opportunity for a Bank Porter to join our team at Fitzwilliam Hospital. You will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.

With a strong focus on customer service our team of Bank Porters provide a vital service in our hospital. Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function of the role you will also be required to provide general porter services to all hospital departments. Duties will include management of waste, transit of blood and specimens, changing and handling of gas cylinders and manual handling of equipment.

What you’ll bring with you:

  • Professional and confident IT skills

  • A valid driver’s licence is essential for this role

  • Strong English and Mathematics skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Initiative with a flexible and proactive approach to work

  • Good attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service experience

  • Experience in working within a challenging environment

  • Previous Healthcare experience (desirable not required)

Fitzwilliam Hospital is one of Cambridgeshire's leading independent hospitals with a reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services since 1983. What is a Bank Contract:

A Bank contract at Ramsay Health Care UK is a flexible employment agreement where you are not committed to a set number of hours per week. Instead, you work on an ad-hoc basis, filling in shifts that we have available in our hospitals. A Bank contract is ideal for individuals seeking flexibility, as it allows you to choose shifts that fit your availability, leaving you with a greater work-life balance. Bank contracts are also a fantastic way to secure additional income alongside other contracted work. Our Bank staff play a crucial role in maintaining service levels during peak times or staff shortages, ensuring that patient care remains uninterrupted.
