The Business Associate is a senior level position responsible for the overall administrative activities of the Markets business. This position will support the Markets leadership team in driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence and business performance management.
Key tasks may include managing external audits (Banxico and CNBV), addressing regulatory issues (Markets regulations) and ensuring sound markets practices are executed. The Business Associate may coordinate and manage activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. May manage ad hoc projects as requested.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives, business programs, and operational enhancements across the Markets organization
Establish governance routines, reporting, and escalation frameworks to track progress, risks, and dependencies.
Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and control within Markets businesses
Coordinate annual and strategic planning cycles, including financials, headcount, book-of-work, and resource allocation
Partner with control functions to strengthen risk management, regulatory adherence, and audit readiness.
- Drive implementation of regulatory, operational and tech-related changes.
- Asses local regulations applicability for the Markets activities in LF.
- Drive productivity/ cost savings initiatives in partnership with the senior management team
- Support large-scale transformation programs impacting Markets platforms, processes, or regulatory obligations.
- Drive adoption of new tools, technology, and operating models across the business.
- Develop monthly communications metrics to monitor and measure impact of the business plan
- Participate in leadership meetings to assess scope of communications needs, educate leadership on strategy, and make recommendations for achieving desired impact
- Complete financial deliverables including monthly forecasts, the annual investment process, client reporting and ad hoc requests
- Appropriately assess risk when Markets business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Banamex , its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Document, improve, and standardize front-to-back business processes
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in a financial services role
- Financial Markets knowledge is a must.
- Clear understanding of regulations applicable for Markets activities
- Demonstrated working knowledge of financial services industry
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in risk & controls, regulatory engagement, governance, or audit-facing work.
- Background in consulting, project management, or Markets COO/CAO organizations.
- Ability to drive structure, discipline, and clarity in ambiguous situations.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
