Role Description
Treasury
- Treasury at Deutsche Bank is responsible for sourcing, managing, and optimizing Deutsche Bank's financial resources and providing high-quality steering to the business on financial resource deployment.
- Treasury's fiduciary mandate encompasses the Bank's funding pools, asset and liability management (ALM), liquidity reserves management, and supporting businesses in delivering their strategic targets at the global and local levels. Further, Treasury manages all financial resources' optimization to implement the group's strategic objective and maximize long-term return on average tangible shareholders' equity (RoTE).
- The current role is part of the Treasury Office in Mumbai. The position requires interactions with all key hubs i.e., London, New York, Frankfurt, and Singapore.
Desk Overview
The Balance Sheet Management function plays a key role in helping Treasury to achieve its overall objectives to protect and commercially steer the firm’s financial resources to enable execution of the Bank’s strategy in all environments.
Balance Sheet Management is responsible for driving the Bank’s funding strategy, balance sheet optimisation and steering the Bank’s financial resources.The team consists of three global pillars:
- Balance Sheet Strategy
- Funds Transfer Pricing
- Treasury Planning & Performance Management
Function Overview
The vacancy falls within Treasury Planning & Performance Management team, which is responsible for the Planning, Forecasting and Performance Management of:
- Group Liquidity and Funding, including Issuance
- Treasury’s P&L covering both the external costs incurred and the onward allocation to businesses
- Analysis of the Group NII development
- Delivery of Countermeasures to support Group Recovery Planning, Stress tests and other regulatory requirements

Your key responsibilities
Treasury Planning and Forecasting team wish to hire a candidate for a role where the core deliverables are:
- Assist with monthly forecasting & annual planning of Treasury’s funding costs and its allocation to various businesses
- Produce standard and adhoc analysis as required to support business or senior management requests
- Assist with the production of Treasury’s PnL performance tracking and explain the trends
- Involvement in Treasury change initiatives including working with Technology on automation initiatives
- Improve controls of the planning & forecasting tools to ensure accurate reporting
- Producing and maintaining up to date Cost and FTP Planning documentation
- Over time, the role holder will grow into becoming an SME on Treasury transfers to the business and to own the processes that underpins the production of numbers
Your skills and experience
- CA or CFA qualification is preferred
- Sound numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders across all levels
- Able to prioritize competing tasks in a dynamic environment with attention to detail
- Ability to escalate issues and seek guidance
- Experience with Excel and Powerpoint
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA and/ or visualization tools such as Tableau or Qlikview would be an advantage
