Job Summary:**
Hitachi, Ltd. is seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineering Architect to design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure AWS cloud platforms. This role is crucial for driving our cloud strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and enabling the efficient delivery of cloud-native applications.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure and platforms.
* Define and enforce cloud best practices, standards, and governance policies for AWS environments.
* Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
* Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks for AWS resources and services.
* Collaborate with development teams to ensure successful application deployments and integrations on AWS.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
* Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization for AWS resources.
* Implement and manage security controls, compliance requirements, and disaster recovery strategies within AWS.
* Stay current with emerging AWS services, technologies, and industry trends, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
* Troubleshoot complex AWS infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions.
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in IT with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
* Deep expertise in core AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, EKS/ECS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, and Route 53.
* Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
* Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and operational tasks.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline).
* Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing) and security best practices in cloud environments.
* Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS).
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification is highly preferred.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
