AVP, Senior Investment Research Analyst
AB CarVal is an established global alternative investment manager and part of AllianceBernstein’s Private Alternatives business. We are currently seeking a AVP to join our US Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) team. The role holder will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring CLO investment globally, with a key focus on US based borrowers.
The role-holder will be required to build financial and valuation models and perform detailed analysis on existing and potential future investments. The role holder must interact effectively with senior management, internal administration, legal and tax resources, as well as external parties.
This position will be based in Alliance Bernstein’s offices in Pune, India, and will report to the global CLO business.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the CLO team with underwriting of new credits and bringing the credits independently to credit committee. The majority of credits will be US based corporates.
Prepare credit committee materials for potential new investments and existing investments, as needed
Monitoring of existing positions including quarterly earnings updates, add-ons and refinancings.
Develop and maintain accurate models and tearsheets for designated credits on a timely basis.
Develop and maintain in-depth sector knowledge including key trends, drivers and issues, including rating agency reports.
Support on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) analysis for the CLO business, including best practices and their application in AB CarVal.
Participate in daily team meetings.
Undertake special projects within the scope of the local company’s authorized activities and as directed by senior management.
Required:
Graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
Experience gained in the areas of public or private equity, leverage finance, CLOs, fixed income or hedge funds.
A demonstrable track record (minimum 8 years).
Excellent ability to interpret and analyse financial models, familiarity with more complicated capital structures, including the ability to begin to analyse complex debt transactions.
Extensive experience of analysing and modelling companies.
Excellent spoken and written communication.
Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, while meeting challenging deadlines.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Excellent numerical and critical reasoning skills.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to audit own work.
Ability to manage the workload, scaling up and down each side as needed.
Ability and desire to periodically work extended hours based on deal activities.
Preferred:
MBA, CFA or related qualification.
