Summary

Maintains extensive, technical knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer Compliance. Provides leadership in MSP compliance, product development, and instructional design. Ensures expert application of Medicare Secondary Payer statutes. Participates in the definition and development of MSP related corporate policies, procedures and processes. Performs Settlement Consultant and strategy functions for all IMPAXX customers.

Essential Duties and Functions

Settlement Consultation:

  • Leads or participates in: initial triage calls on new referrals; discussion of product options with the customer; mitigation options; complex claim resolution strategies; non-submit and Certified MSA questions. Follows customer special handling instructions.
  • Participates in discussions once the allocation products have been completed (MSA, non-submit MSA, Certified MSA, or other products). Answers questions regarding the allocation, the specific product, or MSP compliance in general.
  • Assists sales team and marketing department with educating customers on product offerings or new product offerings. 
  • Attends file reviews to serve as resource on the MSP compliance issues. Participates in periodic client status meetings (as requested).
  • Performs additional training as needed for clients and participates and helps manage informational webinar series, podcasts, blogs and customer trainings.
  • Communicates technical/industry updates to clients
  • Maintains existing account relationships
  • Serves as a content knowledge resource for Section 111 reporting and assists with Section 111 audits/system reviews
  • Participates in weekly Settlement Consultant Team meetings.
  • Assists in the development of MSP customer content and training materials.
  • Reviews court orders, zero-dollar MSAs, and triage of all outside counsel legal option MSA services.

Account Manager:

  • Develops and maintains high level positive relationships within all assigned and potential accounts
  • Provides clients with monthly/quarterly reports
  • Is responsible for maintaining and retaining assigned client accounts
  • Communicates technical knowledge and industry updates to customers
  • Collaborates actively with the Sales and Marketing team in developing and distributing promotional material
  • Monitor behavior-based triggers to proactively engage and retain customers requesting service termination or downgrades
  • Provides customer service in an effort to gain more depth into existing accounts
  • Assists Business Development and Regional Account Management Teams in achieving sales goals
  • Prepares and conducts remote and on-sight trainings and presentations

Additional Duties:

  • Stays proactive on evolving Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) regulations and technical updates.
  • Serves as a technical resources for Business Development, Account Management, Marketing and Home Office teams
  • Travels to meet with potential and existing customers, provides educational presentations, exhibit at industry events, and attend professional association meetings.
  • Completes multi-faceted projects while balancing the day-to-day activities.
  • Foster team cohesion by consistently demonstrating diplomatic, professional, and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strictly adhere to company confidentiality policies and procedures, safeguarding sensitive information at all times.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; JD preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the Workers’ Compensation or Liability insurance industry
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) Statute preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in PowerPoint
  • Exceptional professional face to face and telephone demeanor
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
